Astrophyllite comes from the Greek word Astro for star and Phyllite for leaf or brilliance. The stone is very rare and comes from remote localities. This beautiful example is from the Kola Peninsula in Northwest Russia. It is set in silver with four gold accent dots. Total length – 50 mm x 32 mm wide (2″ x 1.5″). Weight – 33.22 grams.
